it is no secret that ben watt has chosen to close his acclaimed label buzzin fly to new music after ten great years as one of the uks leading dance independents. but the label has chosen to go out with a bang with one final single. unearthed from the vaults are two dazzling tracks from cornerstone artists, rodamaal, and manoo and francios a. rodamaals fortune was originally completed back in 2007 but scheduling problems prevented it from being released at the time. produced by the franco-portuguese trio (rocco, darkmountaingroups alex santos and manoo) it is a stark but emotionally-charged deep-techno masterpiece, that deserves its place alongside their other classics for the label, musica feliz and insomnia. on the flip, and originally produced in 2005, is other places a long-lost track by manoo and francois a. full of summer shimmer and heavy bass tones, it was produced by the duo during their heyday at the label, and was a secret favourite of label boss, ben watt. two perfect swansongs. buzz buzz.

phoenix g. ferm and deep kickdrums that are being accompanied by lengthy chords and a frequently return male vocal that states, bounce. all and all this is the dancefloor music we are used to from mr.g. the a2 brings a more technoish vibe to dance to. this fits perfect in the modern trend of bass producers turning techno. while of course g is somewhat more of a legend and he didnt just turn to this type of music recently. it does proove that he is still abel to catch any kind of vibe to get the people moving. on the b1 we find a ben sims remix. which of course is enough said. mr sims turns the a2 original into an absolute floor wrecker.

nile delta is enigmatic dancefloor wizard joel dickson, the man responsible for last years channel/all this ep on cutters featuring cut copys ben browning. it was an essential building block of dj sets by the likes of holy ghost (dfa), aeroplane and the revenge. and now, as if inhabited by the spirits of the early house and techno pioneers, he has returned with a irresistibly potent dance anthem which excites as much as it surprises.

van bonn returns after his release maserung on telrae in april 2011. van bonn has been in the studio a lot since then and has worked on a number of tracks that are highlighted here. onwards i is an excursion into sound. it starts with sounds that interact in a subtle way but then as if by magic, suddenly it rises to a much higher energy level, almost pulling you by the hair. chords now kick in with the full force of brutality, like the strikes of london’s big ben and then you’d think the track will just burst. van bonn makes another turn before he lets the drums break loose. it seems as if van bonn is taming the brutality and direction of his electronic machines. abstract now meets the concrete and whoever wins the fight is up to the listener to decide. the first remix comes by raffaele attanasio who has had considerable success with der pianist and i m a jazzman and has collaborated with trapez ltd artist mihalis safras, a. trebor (trapez), as well as claude young, nic fanciulli and has shown his versatility throughout the last 3 years. juan atkins recently featured raffaele attanasio remix of no mans land by a. trebor in his charts.his remix for van bonn keeps up a strong beat programming right from the beginning. a beat monster so to speak is alive from the beginning and kicking. the track is written in a style that shows expansion and contraction and through that shows an organic breathing quality.
